hi i no longer have the remote for my alarm on my mercedes 190e 1991 model how do i reinstate the alarm?

The cheapest and easiest way would probably be for you to look for the nearest car audio/alarm shop with a good reputation and make an appointment. If it was installed aftermarket they can look under the dash for a brain which would tell them what kind of alarm it was and what kind of remotes it takes, and they will either have it in stock or be able to order it. If it just has a factory alarm then you will have to go to the dealer and will be looking probably about 150 with programming and the 1 new remote. Warning: factory alarms really only go off if you leave the window open and pul the lock up or break the driver’s window and then open the door USUALLY. If you want an alarm that will go off if the outside of the car is touched/hit then you should just go ahead and install an aftermarket alarm(in my experience DEI makes the best alarms: Python/Viper/Clifford). I have talked to a lot of people who have gotten broken into because they thought the factory alarm actually did something.
